A new paper on China’s ambitions in the Arctic details its efforts to have greater influence in Arctic affairs, despite the fact it is a non-Arctic state. “China’s Arctic Ambitions”, published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and written by Linda Jakobson and Jingchao Peng, maps out the various actors involved in the development of China’s Arctic policies, though China has moved to protect its interests in the Arctic, it has yet to formulate a comprehensive set of Arctic policies.
