Photo of the Day: Dec. 11, 2012 (F-15 Provides Cover for Santa Edition)

Rare image of Santa with tactical support.  Like Bigfoot, apparently fighters helping Santa never appear in focus.  An F-15 pilot gives a vote of confidence to recent Operation Christmas efforts after the break…

From the photographer:

Flying a “sleigh” powered by two Pratt and Whitney engines and capable of flying at speeds in excess of 1,800 mph, Maj. Kristin Wehle, 366th Fighter Wing F-15E pilot, believes she and other Air Combat Command pilots could be Santa’€™s perfect wingmen, she said.

For all the skeptics out there, this image really did come across the dvids wire, and we have not altered it in any way.  Now stop telling children that there’s no Easter Bunny.
