If reports coming out of the White House are true, say hello to the next U.S. Secretary of State.  More after the break:

In one of the least surprising moves of the post election aftermath, it appears that Senator John Kerry, D-Mass., will be named the next Secretary of State.  While his military career was well discussed during his failed run for the presidency, I thought we could take a look at a couple of images from his time in the Navy released by the Kerry campaign at the time of his bid.

CIRCA 1960s: In this handout image provided by the Kerry Campaign, U.S. Democratic presidential candidate and U.S. Senator John F. Kerry (D-MA) (R) receives a military decoration in an unspecified location circa the 1960s. During his naval military service in the Vietnam War, Kerry was awarded the Bronze Star for saving the life of a serviceman when he served as a Swift Boat officer aboard a river patrol boat in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. In total, Kerry received a Silver Star, Bronze Star with Combat V, and three awards of the Purple Heart for his service in combat. After receiving the three Purple Hearts for minor injuries, Kerry's request for reassignment stateside six months early was granted. (Photo courtesy Kerry Campaign via Getty Images)
