Marine Commandant Gen. Amos has an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Amos has his own F-35. Well, kind of.

My buddy Gabe Starosta, who is the managing editor of Inside the Air Force (the same publication your blogger ran for several years), snapped this photo of a Marine Corps F-35B short take-off vertical landing jet while visiting Eglin Air Force Base on the Florida Panhandle in June.

As you can see, Amos’ name is printed just below the canopy on this joint strike fighter.

Amos — a Marine aviator, call sign Tamer — flew F-4 Phantoms and F/A-18 Hornets earlier in his career. Wonder if he’ll get a chance to fly this F-35 ?
