The NORMANDIE (D 651) is the second FREMM (Frégate Européemes Multi-Missions) frigate built by DCNS for the French Navy. She first went to sea in October 2013.
DCNS put together a video of the ship underway in the Bay of Biscay on March 7 as she finished up a third set of sea trials. The Herakles multi-function phased-array radar spinning atop the forward superstructure is particularly noticeable.

If it's on, over, under or around the water, I write about it. Ships and aircraft, units, tactics, leadership, strategies, acquisition, politics, industry. In the USA and around the world.
