‘Dr. Evil’ Weighs in on USAF A-10 Retirement Debate

AirForceLogic“Dr. Evil,” the Mike Myers character from the Austin Powers movie series, has weighed in on the US Air Force debate about whether to retire the A-10 Warthog.

The villain of all things, well evil, is in a cartoon that is circulating throughout the defense community. In it, the character appears below a F-15C Eagle and an A-10.

Using his beloved air quotes, Dr. Evil proclaims that the F-15C is a “multi-role” fighter, while the A-10 is a “single-role” aircraft despite a heftier list of missions above the Warthog. Go ahead and say it: “multi-role.” Feels good, doesn’t it?

As usual, Dr. Evil has it the wrong way around, or does he? The Air Force actually considers both the A-10 and the F-15 single-role aircraft. So Dr. Evil has it partially right. Anyone want to correct him? Remember if you do, there might be some sharks with laser beams headed your way.
