During his visit to the US capital this week, Polish Defense Minister Tomasz Siemoniak will meet with Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat.

“He is a person who is very much engaged in providing assistance to veterans and to children of veterans in Poland and we really appreciate what he does very much,” Siemoniak told Defense News this week.

Siemoniak decorated Gortat with a medal last year for his work with Polish veterans.

“I am really very happy to be able to meet him,” he Siemoniak said.

Gortat is the only Polish player in the NBA.
