President Barack Obama pardons Cobbler during the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon. (MANDEL NGAN/AFP/Getty Images)

Since we expect most Intercepts readers are filled to the brim with the remnants of their Thanksgiving feats, we decided to go with a light photo for today. Here we see the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon offered by President Barack Obama at the White House. Unlike their cousins who ended up in the bellies of millions of Americans, Cobbler and his brother Gobbler will retire to a turkey farm, safe from sharing a plate with gravy, potatoes and cranberry sauce (this scribe prefers the sauce with the ridges, thank you very much.)

Of course, this isn’t a tradition that started with President Obama…
